OUR HOUSE.
Deto-san and his team of builders realized a wonderful house for us. We made it into our own home as soon as we moved in.We’ve been here for a little over 3 months now and we still can’t get over how lovely it is. I often sit down, sip a cup of tea and gaze around at the joists, beams and the beautiful plasterwork. Not to forget the wooden floorboards, warm underfoot and beautifully aged as is the rest of the woodwork in our lovely home.
We chose everything. From the room layout and types of materials used for the interior, down to the door handles, light fixtures …. well… everything! I also designed some of the exposed timbers inside to create a truly realistic rustic timber framed cottage.
Coming from England I know what I’m talking about as I’ve lived in two early 18th Century buildings and have a great interest in these old structures. So I have to say that Deto-san’s passion and knowledge of English country style has shone through.
Deto-san and his team also exercised lots of confidence, craftsmanship and creativity.
On some occasions we would visit the house during the building process and I was
surprised and pleased by ideas and especially the decorative woodwork that the team
had created inside and out.
So a big, heartily Thank you! goes out to Delicate Tools for a wonderful job in building
our house that I’m sure will give us many years of pleasure.

出戸さん、そして大工さんたちはとても素晴らしい家を建ててくださいました。
引っ越してからマイホームに馴染むまで時間はかかりませんでした。
住んでから三ヶ月以上経ちますが、いまだにうっとりさせられる、素敵な家です。
よくソファに座って、お茶をすすりながら周りを見渡し、美しい梁や漆喰を見つめています。
それに忘れてはいけないのが、素足が心地よい温かい床。そして家中の美しくアンティーク加工された木です。
レイアウトからインテリアに使われる材料、ドアノブや照明にいたるまですべて自分たちで選びました・・・
とにかくすべて! 中のつけ柱もデザインさせてもらい、イギリスのコテージの素朴な感じを実現できました。
私はイギリス出身なので、以前は18世紀前半の家々に住んでいましたし、また古い建築にはとても興味があり、そのへんは詳しいつもりです。
この家には出戸さんのイギリスカントリースタイルに対する情熱、そしてその知識があらわれています。
出戸さんそしてスタッフの方の自信、技術、創造性の賜物でもあると思います。
建築段階を何度かみさせてもらいましたが、その発想には驚かされるとともに、とても満足しました。
特に内外装の木に施された細工は見事です。きっとこれから何年も喜びを与えてくれるこの家を建ててくれた、デリケートトゥールさんへ、心から、深く感謝します!! （2010年1月記）
